Language Learning Links

It is my wish that you really learn English well.  I hope you achieve all of your language learning goals.  As I have said before, englishmasteracademy.com focuses on putting grammar into your brain, so that you can communicate effortlessly.  However, that is not all there is to learning a language.

I will be adding more links here in the near future, but I absolutely had to tell you about a couple of links that I find very useful.

The first is a vocabulary memorization system invented by a graduate of Cambridge University.  I use it and find it to be a very enjoyable way to learn vocabulary, mainly because it is such a great system.

I could be wrong, but I believe this system is the best way to learn vocabulary on the planet.  Check out his videos.  See:  www.goldlist.eu

He is from Poland.  Here he is impersonating a Russian man.  Really, his English is absolutely perfect, as you can see in the third video.

This is a lecture he did at a English learning institute in Moscow, Russia. Here he explains the method. I might have the basics translated into Korean and Spanish if enough people don't understand.

I personally use audio recordings and watch lots of movies in the languages I am studying.  Because I am a Christian I listen to audio Bibles in the languages I want to learn.  What you do is download an audio Bible in your language and in the language you want to learn.

You first listen to the Bible in your language until you understand the chapter perfectly.  Then you listen to the Bible in the language you want to learn.  You'll probably have to listen 40 to 50 times.  It doesn't matter.

Here is where you can download the Bibles:  www.faithcomesbyhearing.com

Finally, the English Listening Language Lab Online is a great place to listen to real conversations and expand your vocabulary.  They have games, exercises, and over 900 different dialogues to listen to.  It's a great resource.  You can find it here:  http://www.elllo.org/

Ok.  If you are an advanced learner you couldn't go wrong by subscribing to this service.  It is absolutely wonderful.  It is a visual thesaurus.  You will learn about every way there is to use words in English.

Check it out here:  www.visualthesaurus.com  I think it is only $19.95 for a whole year.  You can expand your vocabulary hugely with this powerful yet very inexpensive resource.  I can't imagine a serious student of English without it.

Another program I like is Flash My Brain, which is a flashcard making program.  You can check it out here:  www.flashmybrain.com
